How much does your work cost?

Faux painting and murals vary so tremendously in style and detail that it would be unfair to both of us for me to quote prices. This is why we do a free consultation. We can look at the walls - texture, current paint color, need for patching or floating - and give you a definitive quote after our visit.

How long does it take to complete a project?

Most faux finishes can be completed over the course of one to two days depending on the style of finish. The time for a mural or intricate faux finish depends on the size of the surface utilized and the detail you are looking to have incorporated. Murals cam be painted directly onto your walls or your mural can be painted on a canvas and brought or shipped to you anywhere in the continental United States.

Do the walls need to be prepped for painting?

Any necessary repairs to the surface should be done in advance and we will discuss at the time of the estimate any other changes to the condition of the walls. Ray of Light does base paint walls and ceilings in preparation for the murals, should you choose to have them do so. If required, Ray of Light will have professionals resurface the walls if that complements your choice of faux finish.

Should we move furniture prior to work being started?

Furniture will need to be moved at least four feet away from the areas being painted. On the first day of work, we will install drop cloths to protect your flooring as well as tape off any areas needed. If required, Ray of Light can recommend professional movers and storage facilities for larger projects.

How far do you travel?

Ray of light is located in Mesa, Arizona. We are approximately 30 miles from Phoenix. Our current client base is within the metropolitan Phoenix area, however we have traveled to outlying cities and would go just about anywhere if the negotiated price included the travel.
